Background: As an undergraduate I majored in English at Central South University and was awarded a Bachelor of Art degree in 1983. I also obtained a diploma from law school. After that I went to graduate school at Southwest University . In 1996 I got a scholarship from China government to pursue my further study at San Diego State University , USA , and I am an adjunct professor there. Now I am an associate professor in English Department, Wuhan University .
Research interests: My research interests are in CAI, machine translation, corpus linguistics and long-distance education. Every year I have one or two books published. And I have three books already published this year: A Guide to the Writing of English Graduation Papers (2007.1), A Brief Introduction to English Linguistics (2007.7), and A Panorama Review of English Speaking Countries (2007.9). At present, I have one more textbook writing project in progress: Computational Linguistics . This is a textbook for graduate program.
