于雷,博士、教授、博士生导师,现任北京交通大学长江学者奖励计划交通运输规划与管理特聘教授,美国德克萨斯州南方大学科技学院院长、交通专业终身教授,美国德克萨斯州注册工程师。作为德克萨斯南方大学科技学院院长,负责该院十个系的教学、科研及行政管理工作,于雷任职的科技学院是综合性学院,十个系包括数学、物理、化学、生物、航空科技、计算机科学、环境科技、工业技术、工程技术、交通等。该院有数个国家级的研究中心,其中之一National Transportation Security Center of Excellence (NTSCE)是美国国会批准的国土安全部唯一一个交通领域的国家级研究中心,国会批准的年经费为1千8百万美元,于雷担任该中心的共同负责人(CO-PI);另一个国家级研究中心是美国宇航局(NASA)直属的高等院校研究中心(NASA University Research Center),2009年11月该中心所完成的研究成果由航天飞机Atlantis STS-129载入太空。于雷在德克萨斯南方大学任职期间,创立多个交通领域的研究和实验中心,创建了港口海运安全与管理新学科,主持了42项联邦政府和州政府的科研项目,所获总经费近8千万美元。2000年12月开始任北京交通大学交通运输规划与管理长江学者特聘教授,期间主持科研项目38项。多项研究成果拥有软件著作权、专利并获得各种奖项,发表论文200多篇,国内外共指导和培养博士后、博士和硕士研究生近100名。于雷1963年6月11日出生于中国黑龙江省北安市,1984年毕业于北方交通大学铁道运输管理工程专业,1988年获得日本名古屋工业大学生产系统工程硕士学位,1994年获得加拿大皇后大学交通工程博士学位。1985年至1994年曾先后任职于日本丰田汽车公司,日本东海系统研究所,加拿大皇家军事学院,1994年至今任职于美国德克萨斯州南方大学、北京交通大学。主要研究领域包括智能交通系统技术的开发与应用,城市交通管理与规划,汽车尾气排放控制,大规模交通网络的模拟与优化。TRB交通与空气质量委员会委员,任多个美国交通领域执行委员会的理事或顾问,多个国际交通领域学术组织下属委员会理事,中国旅美交通协会(NACOTA)前任会长。
