1983年9月——1987年7月在湖南大学应用数学专业读本科，获学士学位；1991年9月——1994年6月在湖南大学计算数学专业读硕士，获硕士学位；1996年9月——1999年6月在湖南大学应用数学专业读博士，获博士学位。
工作经历：
1987年7月——1994年6月被湖南大学聘为助教，1994年6月——1999年6月被湖南大学聘为讲师，1999年6月——2005年5月被湖南大学聘为副教授，2005年5月被湖南大学聘为教授，2007年8月被湖南大学遴选为博士生指导教师。1999年5月——2005年8月分别在澳大利亚新南威尔士大学、香港中文大学及香港理工大学作访问学者及博士后。

数字图像处理、偏微分方程反问题的数值方法及其应用、最优化理论与方法
