温金玉，1961年生，山西岚县人，1987年毕业于中国人民大学哲学系研究生班。哲学硕士。曾任山西省社会科学院哲学所副所长、山西佛教研究所所长。现任中国人民大学哲学院教授，博士生导师，教育部人文社会科学重点研究基地中国人民大学佛教与宗教学理论研究所研究员。
研究方向为中国佛教制度、佛教伦理学和宗教政策法规。著述有《僧尼的一生》、《观音菩萨》、《四分律释译》、《读体见月大师传》、《慧能法师传》、《佛教净土宗与山西玄中寺》、《禅宗伦理学初探》、《佛教慈悲观》等8部专著，《禅宗宗派源流》、《宗教与当代中国社会》等12部合著，以及《禅宗伦理思想研究》、《佛陀制戒本怀与佛法未来》等150余篇论文。主持国家社会科学基金项目《中国僧制史研究》、教育部人文社会科学重点研究基地重大项目《中国律宗研究》、港台合作项目《中国佛教制度研究》、委托课题《长春佛教溯源》等。2006年创办“中国佛教制度研究中心”网站。主讲课程有：《中国佛教史研究》、《佛教哲学》、《佛教历史与思想》、《佛典导读》、《佛教宗派研究》等。
