本专业培养具备交通工程和系统规划、设计与控制等方面知识，熟悉国家关于交通运输规划、建设与管理的方针、政策和法规；了解交通工程，特别是智能交通的发展动态；能在国家与地方的发展计划部门、交通规划与设计部门、交通管理部门等从事交通运输规划、交通工程设计、交通控制系统开发等方面工作的高级工程技术人才。
