1978-1982年在北方交通大学铁道建筑系学习,获学士学位;

1982-1984年在北方交通大学土木建筑系学习,获硕士学位;

1984年起在北方交通大学工作,1992年任副教授,1993年起任教授,1997年起任博士生导师;

1989-1990年在比利时鲁汶大学访问学者;

1999年7-9月、2000年8-9月在香港理工大学客座研究员;

2002年7-10月在日本铁路技术综合研究所高级访问学者;

2007年7-10月在澳大利亚新南威尔士大学客座研究员;

1997年12月-2003年1月任北方交通大学土木建筑工程学院院长;

2002年10月-2007年12月任北方交通大学一级特聘教授;

2008年1月起任北京交通大学二级教授。

研究领域

夏禾教授长期从事桥梁振动及结构动力可靠性理论与应用的研究:关于车桥动力相互作用机理的研究成果已经在秦沈客运专线的桥梁设计和铁路提速桥梁加固等工程中应用,取得了良好的经济效益;与香港理工大学合作研究强风作用下大跨度悬索桥的行车安全与控制,与比利时鲁汶大学合作在欧洲进行了高速铁路桥梁试验,为我国大跨度桥梁及高速铁路桥梁的动力设计取得了重要的经验。有关交通系统引起的环境振动及其控制、城市立交桥抗震设计等方面的成果已直接用于国家及首都的经济建设。
